Let\u2019s be honest, a significant number of people who own a campervan probably don\u2019t tend to use it until Easter arrives and close it up come early September. This is such a shame because many of them can be used all year around and there really are some lovely places to visit during the autumn and winter months here in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After all, many campervans now come equipped with a very good heating system enabling you to keep warm on the coldest of days and nights when the snow is on the ground. What can be better than waking up on a cold, frosty morning and enjoy a bacon, egg and sausage sandwich accompanied by a steaming hot mug of tea or coffee as you look out of the window of your campervan that you have parked up on the top of a hill admiring some delightful countryside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A number of campsites remain open over the winter period especially in the current economic climate. This means that if you are not as adventurous as to get well off the beaten track to partake in some wild camping you can spend a few days on a well-equipped campsite enjoying the benefits of hot showers and spotlessly clean toilet facilities. What\u2019s more, because of the time of the year, the campsite is likely to be much less crowded than in the summer. Furthermore, the cost of staying overnight out of season may well be cheaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are so many beautiful places to visit in the UK during the colder weather. For instance, you could explore the Lake District such as the area around Lake Windermere. Imagine spending a night or two overlooking the lake and enjoying a relaxing, slow boat trip on it. You may even feel tempted to go up, over and down one of the famous passes such as Hardknott Pass or Wrynose Pass \u2013 not for the faint hearted but the views are spectacular. How about venturing onto the North Yorkshire Moors and enjoying a meal at a quaint village pub such as the Owl Inn in Hawnby. What about getting up to Bamburgh on the Northumberland coast and spend some time walking along the wide expanse of beach and visiting the castle before finding somewhere to park your campervan up for the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
