You may find it of interest to read that a larger number of people since the beginning of 2026 have shown an increase in purchasing campervans, caravans and motorhomes.
According to Gumtree, there has been a rise of 133% in potential buyers of such leisure vehicles since the beginning of 2026. We are sure that our readers will agree that is a very large increase. It is also interesting to read according to Gumtree that there has been a rise of 22% in such vehicles being listed on the aforementioned website since the beginning of 2026.
The postcode area that has seen the most number of viewings is Fife with 45,607 viewings. In second place is County-Antrim with 43,207 and Essex is in third place with 38,472 viewings.
You may also find it interesting to hear that the campervan that has had the most number of viewings is the Volkswagen Transporter with 74,720 viewings. That is far more than any other campervan or motorhome with the Ford Transit in second place with 58,260 viewings and the Fiat Ducato with 45,208 viewings.
It is going to be interesting to see if the number of viewings continues at these sorts of levels bearing in mind the war between the USA, Israel and Iran considering the impact that war is having on petrol and diesel prices. The majority of campervans on our roads are no doubt going to use either petrol or diesel so there may well be a lot of holidaymakers who were considering buying a campervan may decide to delay such a purpose until such time as the war ends and fuel prices hopefully fall to levels seen say 6 weeks or so ago.
Of course, there will be some people who are unconcerned about the rise in fuel prices who decide to buy a campervan as they have the financial resources available to meet the increased cost of fuel for their campervan.
